Default World Championship Muay Thai WCK (Primm, NV) Apr 17, 2010 [results]

WCK MuayThai Returns to Primm’s Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino with a Host of WBC MuayThai, IKKC MuayThai and IAMTF Title Fights and World-Renowned Fighters

PRIMM, Nev. – March…. 2010 – Craig “The Bullet” Buchanan and Kwame “Mr. Wicked” Stephens head the fighter line up for the World Championship MuayThai on April 17th, 2010. The event will be presented by Dennis Warner, In Sync Productions and Herbst Gaming and hosted by Buffalo Bill’s at Primm Valley Casino Resorts. The current IKKC World middleweight and WBC US national middleweight champion, Craig Buchanan (Bullet Hole training center) will put his WBC MuayThai title on the line against the Salt Lake City star, Kwame Stephens (Wicked Ways Muay Thai), who is currently ranked third in the world by International Kickboxing Federation (IKF). As a sign of a perfect match up, both fighters will bring their extensive Muay Thai experience into the ring, Buchanan, with a professional record of 16-3, and Stephens with the record of 34-9 (25KO’s); both fighters site adaptability as one of their strongest features in the game, and both find their roots in Shotokan karate.

The international portion of the card will be represented by the following Dutch fighters: Ismael Londt, Petra Janssen van Doorn and Menno Dijkstra. The heavyweight Londt, with record of 11-0 (6KO’s), says that “the Dutch way of fighting” is his inherent advantage in the ring. He will take on Atlanta’s favorite, Kevin Brooks, pro record: 7-3 (4KO’s), who has fought Forrest Griffin in his earlier amateur fighting career. Brooks comments: “I am glad to take on a good caliber opponent. Everyone, who’s seen me fight knows that I can take a lot and I give a lot back in the ring”. An inspiration to many female fighters around the world, Christine Toledo will battle Petra Janssen Van Doorn, a WMA International Champion and WPMF World Champion for a prestigious WBC International Women’s Championship belt. Menno “The Machinegun” Dijkstra, the latest protégé of European legend Thom Harnick (Chakuriki Pankration gym) will face Chaz Mulkey (Master Toddy’s MuayThai Academy), who rocked the house by knocking his opponent out in the first round during his last fight.

Shawn Yarborough (6-1-1), fighting out of Warriors’ Gym and Xtreme Couture Gym will defend his WBC MuayThai US national title against Atlanta’s Tom Munro (6-1). Another Las Vegas talent, a fighter with utmost dedication to the sport of Muay Thai, Scott Leffler (3-0) will have a chance at his first professional IKKC MuayThai title, when he steps into the ring with James Martinez, the American pick for Contender Asia series, a Mark Burnett-produced, selection-based reality TV show, which is sanctioned by World MuayThai Council (WMC).

With the tremendous support of the Inland Empire, Calif. fan base, Joey Pagliuso, the owner of the very popular USKO Academy will fight Sean Dizay (2-1) of Las Vegas Elite Gym.

The show will also include the much anticipated bout between Jack Thames (One Kick Gym) and Mike Ryan, which was cancelled last December due to Ryan’s hand injury.

The order of the bouts is as follows:
